Fusion Card Challenge #8

Hi all, I wanted to play along with this week’s Fusion Card Challenge

Image

I went with Lesley’s Challenge (the pink, orange and yellow flowers) I chose to stick with the gorgeous color combo and went a little outside the box and didn’t actually use any flowers, which I hope is okay!

Image

I inked the main image panel with Distress Inks from Tim Holtz, I used Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade & Squeezed Lemonade (some of my favorite color combos with the distress inks) and then stamped the image over top of it with Unity Stamp Company’s By A Thread Itty Bitty stamp set. Originally I wanted the sentiment to just be on the white card base, but I had a mishap…alright, not a mishap I’m just goofy and accidentally stamped the sentiment up side down, so I had to change my plans a bit and decided to stamp the sentiment over a piece of patterned paper which I got from My Mind’s Eye Happy Day 6×6 Paper Pad. Not exactly what I had in mind, but I can live with it. The sentiment is adhered directly to the card base and the blended panel is popped up with some dimensional adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by! :]

SSS Challenge…Take a Picture

Hi all! I have a card I created for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and this week Simon Says…Take a Picture!

And I’m not going to lie, I was so excited! You may not know this about me but I have a slight obsession with cameras (okay, it’s a huge obsession) I have a vintage camera collection that is my pride and joy! :] And I’ve been hoarding some camera related patterned paper for quite some time now (they are just so pretty!)  But, this challenge forced me to use some of it and I’m so happy I did!! :]

Image

I used some grey card stock that I received in one of my monthly card kits as the card base and the patterned paper is from Studio Callico’s Darling Dear collection. I created the tiny polaroid with a 1 inch square punch (I don’t have any square dies or any of those adorable polaroid dies) and my paper trimmer. I then stamped the heart from an adorable Lawn Fawn stamp set that was also apart of a card kit in Hero Arts Red Royal Mid-tone Shadow Ink and die cut the “you” from the SSS You die and stamped “make me smile” from the coordinating stamp set.

I gotta say, I’m very happy with how this turned out, but that’s not a surprise seeing as how it is camera related. :] Thanks for stopping by!!

CAS(E) this Sketch & Muse Challenge

Image

JEN_MUSE15

For the CAS(E) this sketch challenge I instantly knew I wanted to use the stamp set that I just recently got in from Unity Stamp Company. And I knew I wanted to pull some of the colors from this weeks Muse. So I used the yellow and blue tones from that and combined it with the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch.

I just did some very simple copic coloring, I am not very good nor do I have many markers and since I am in the process of moving half of my supplies are in a storage unit (including my colorless blender) so I had a bit of a tough time.

I used staz on jet black ink to stamp the sentiment onto the vellum and wrapped it around the front panel.

I used Hero Arts Tide Pool and Soft Pool shadow ink to stamp the clouds. Rounded the top right corner of the panel that has the main image stamped on it and popped it up on some foam adhesive.

10 Minute Craft Dash & SSS Challenge

I decided to play along at 10 Minute Craft Dash The colors are just GORGEOUS! ❤ They make me so happy and smiley! :]

Image

I am also playing along over at Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog and this week the challenge is Happy Mail!

I did the best I could with the supplies I have on hand. As I mentioned in a previous post I’m staying at my boyfriend’s house for a month before we move into the new apartment and a lot of my crafting supplies are in storage…I have JUST ENOUGH to get by 😛 haha

I decided to use a craft card base and Studio Calico’s Sundrifter 6×6 paper pad. Luckily the colors used in this collection are very close to those of this challenge. In this paper pad they have a sheet that has some cute little sayings on them and I thought this square that reads ‘You are lovely’ was just perfect! I used a fiskars border punch to create the scalloped edge on the pink/coral piece of paper and then cut it in half. I then white heat embossed those tiny adorable hearts from Simon Says Stamp Best Mom Ever stamp set. Popped the greeting up on some dimensional adhesive, rounded the top right hand corner and added some dash lines along the outside of the card base and that was it! I was able to finish just in time! :]

And…here is my card. I like this one a lot better than my 1st attempt at this challenge, enjoy! :]

CASology & Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

Hi all! Playing along today with CASology (cue card is ‘care’) & Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge (anything goes!)

Image

Paper Smooches logo sparks copy

I had so much fun making this card! I’ve had this Paper Smooches Healthy Vibes stamp set for a little while now but haven’t played around with it until now. It is just so dang cute!

I used Authentique Celebrate 6×6 paper pad for that little strip of red and just stamped the band aid image from the Healthy Vibes stamp set onto some kraft card stock three times. Colored in the hearts red and cut out the images. I used the Feel Better Soon sentiment from that same PS stamp set and added some glossy accents to the hearts. I adhered the middle band aid behind the red strip of paper and directly onto the card base. I then popped up the top and bottom band aid on some dimensional adhesive and that was it.

Hope you all enjoy, and thanks for stopping by! 😀

CASology

So as promised I am back with yet another challenge. This card is for CASology & the cue word is Travel.

My original plan was to water color the main panel, but fate stepped in and my mailman rang my door bell with a package of ink blending tools that I just bought, so I decided to go ahead and give that a shot! This was my first time using distress inks with a blending tool and I loved it.

And here is some detail…

Image

I stamped the tiny little image of the paper airplane directly onto the background and stamped it again on some plain white card stock. Did a little fussy cutting around the paper airplane and stuck it on with some Kooltac clear adhesive directly over the original stamped image. I then added the sentiment ‘Just a Note’ from Hero Arts Everyday sayings stamp set.

And of course I couldn’t leave it alone there so I added the tiny little scalloped edge with some light blue scrap card stock I had sitting on my work surface and rounded the top two corners. I have to say, I really like this card & it was fun to make! :]

10 Minute Craft Dash

So yesterday I decided to attempt my first ever 10 Minute Craft Dash (what the heck was I thinking!?) The colors were just too beautiful to pass up though, and I figured I might as well give it a shot…

Image

I think this is a great challenge, especially because sometimes you’ll need to whip up a card for someone in about 10 minutes, you don’t always have time to putz around.

Anyways, here is my card…

Image

The colors just look like a baby card to me. I have to be honest, I’m not too proud of this card but I just keep reminding myself it was my first attempt at a 10 minute craft dash and to not be too hard on myself. I kept it (obviously) very simple. The card stock is all just scraps I had laying around (oddly enough they were right by each other..what a coincidence!) It is probably hard to tell from the photo but the center panel is navy, it’s a fairly dark navy but navy none the less. I heat embossed the sentiment ‘hey diddle diddle someone new someone little.’ on the light blue card stock from an adorable stamp set that I bought at my local Michael’s (I can’t seem to find the packaging at the moment) and did the same with the cute little onesie on the pink card stock (the onesie is from a different stamp set and I’m afraid I can’t find the packaging to give you a name for that either…talk about disorganization!) Finished it off with some pink and blue twine (I’m pretty sure it is Doodlebug Twine) and that is that! It took me 8:22.6 minutes to put this card together. I think in the future I’ll just try and slow down and take my time a bit more, I might have better results.

Image

I wanted to post this last night but I finally got my act together and talked myself into being somewhat productive. So I went down to my car to go grocery shopping (shepherd’s pie for dinner last night) and my car wouldn’t start. (Doofus me left the light on and killed the battery >.<) Luckily my boyfriend was almost home and he came to the rescue. But, by the time we got my car going and got home from the store and I cooked dinner it was pretty much bedtime.

But anyways, hope you all enjoyed my pitiful attempt at the 10 minute craft dash challenge (I’m sure it made you chuckle) and I’ll be back later today with some more challenges. I’ve found so many great blogs! 😀

Little Tangles Challenge

Hi all, back again! This time with a Little Tangles Challenge to get krafty!

My original idea for this didn’t work out too well, so I scrapped that and moved on. I dry embossed the front panel with a Sizzix embossing folder and die cut a small circle just big enough for the sentiment I wanted to use ‘Birthday Wishes For You’ which I heat embossed in white. Next, I popped up the main embossed panel on the card front with dimensional foam adhesive and then added the die cut circle with my sentiment (and yes, you guessed it…more dimensional adhesive) I finished it off with some faux white stitching lines all around the circle and some cute blue, yellow, & green enamel dots from Studio Calico (I think I got them from one of my card kits) Lots of fun Layers on this card! Hope you enjoyed!! And I’ll be back in a bit with a 10 Minute Craft Dash card to share! :]

SSS Challenge 1

Hey there! Today I decided to attempt my first Simon Says Stamp Challenge.

This week is April showers and/or Spring flowers showcasing Hero Arts.

Image

I decided to go with flowers because I’ve just been loving the new-to-me American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapalitan 6×6 paper pad that I was lucky enough to find on sale a few weeks ago at Target. I used the sentiment ‘thinking of you’ from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings stamp set and white heat embossed it on kraft card stock. All patterned paper is from the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapalitan 6×6 paper pad that I mentioned before. To make the paper bow I used the My Favorite Things Die-namics Dainty Bow die and for the scalloped border I used the Fiskars Scalloped Edge Border Punch

I haven’t quite had time yet to sit down and look into learning Inlinkz so I can add all of my supplies yet but once I am able to do that I will update this post (if I can figure out how)

Anyways, thanks for stopping by! I had a blast making this card! :]
