Fusion Card Challenge #8

Hi all, I wanted to play along with this week’s Fusion Card Challenge

Image

I went with Lesley’s Challenge (the pink, orange and yellow flowers) I chose to stick with the gorgeous color combo and went a little outside the box and didn’t actually use any flowers, which I hope is okay!

I inked the main image panel with Distress Inks from Tim Holtz, I used Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade & Squeezed Lemonade (some of my favorite color combos with the distress inks) and then stamped the image over top of it with Unity Stamp Company’s By A Thread Itty Bitty stamp set. Originally I wanted the sentiment to just be on the white card base, but I had a mishap…alright, not a mishap I’m just goofy and accidentally stamped the sentiment up side down, so I had to change my plans a bit and decided to stamp the sentiment over a piece of patterned paper which I got from My Mind’s Eye Happy Day 6×6 Paper Pad. Not exactly what I had in mind, but I can live with it. The sentiment is adhered directly to the card base and the blended panel is popped up with some dimensional adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by! :]

Gettin’ inky!

Hi there! Just thought I’d share a few cards with you. I’ve been busy packing (3 whole boxes finished…woohoo!)

This first card I thought it would be really pretty to blend together Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn (are these the right names? I’m not in my crafting room at the moment) And then I saw this beautiful white ribbon laying out on my desk and thought it would make such a pretty contrast to the background, so I wrapped it around the card front and tied it in a bow. I then heat embossed the sentiment ‘Happy Anniversary’ from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings stamp set. (It’s been sitting out on my desk and it really does have perfect sentiments/fonts) and that was that!

This 2nd card is just so bright and cheerful. I thought it would be lovely paired with this beautiful floral paper from American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan 6×6 paper pad (I’ve been using this paper pad A LOT lately) which I cut into a banner shape, It may be hard to tell from the photo but it had the same shades of yellow, pink and orange. It also has bits of a very light baby blue that goes perfectly with the sentiment ‘hi’ that I used foam Thickers for. I just topped it off with a few small white pearls and called it good! :]

And, here is just a fun little card I made for my boyfriend. The inside reads ‘I love you’

The story behind this card is I had actually bought this stamp set from Lawn Fawn (again, I’m not in my craft room, so please correct me if I’m wrong) to make cards for my boyfriend, we both LOVE breakfast! Well the other morning we were both too lazy to cook breakfast before he had to leave for work so I made him this cute little card in lieu of a real breakfast. :]

Hope you enjoyed! Have a great day!!

CASology

So as promised I am back with yet another challenge. This card is for CASology & the cue word is Travel.

My original plan was to water color the main panel, but fate stepped in and my mailman rang my door bell with a package of ink blending tools that I just bought, so I decided to go ahead and give that a shot! This was my first time using distress inks with a blending tool and I loved it.

And here is some detail…

Image

I stamped the tiny little image of the paper airplane directly onto the background and stamped it again on some plain white card stock. Did a little fussy cutting around the paper airplane and stuck it on with some Kooltac clear adhesive directly over the original stamped image. I then added the sentiment ‘Just a Note’ from Hero Arts Everyday sayings stamp set.

And of course I couldn’t leave it alone there so I added the tiny little scalloped edge with some light blue scrap card stock I had sitting on my work surface and rounded the top two corners. I have to say, I really like this card & it was fun to make! :]
