I just realized

It has been over a year since I’ve last posted on this blog, and I’d like to get back into the swing of things. A lot has happened in the past year, and more changes are coming soon but one thing that has remained the same has been my love for paper crafting. And although I haven’t devoted as much time to crafting as I once did this past year, I’d like to make it a priority in my life once again, and I think one way of doing that is to get this blog back up and running, and better than it ever was before.

With that said, I’d like to start this post off with some cards I’ve made more recently. And when I say more recently, I use the term loosely…but I have just now gotten around to photographing them and sharing them with anyone aside from Nick.

Enjoy! 😀

HappyEasterStripes

I know, I know, Easter was FOR-EV-ER ago…but c’mon, this Easter card is just way too cute not to share. So simple, with the mint green stripes and little flower cluster that I used my wink of stella brush on, and those perfect little enamel dots. I just couldn’t resist posting this.

Can you see a common theme with these last two cards? I just love this adorable Simon Says Stamp set.

Well, if anyone is actually reading this, I hope you enjoyed it. I’ll be back soon with some more cards. 🙂

Fusion Card Challenge #8

Hi all, I wanted to play along with this week’s Fusion Card Challenge

Image

I went with Lesley’s Challenge (the pink, orange and yellow flowers) I chose to stick with the gorgeous color combo and went a little outside the box and didn’t actually use any flowers, which I hope is okay!

Image

I inked the main image panel with Distress Inks from Tim Holtz, I used Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade & Squeezed Lemonade (some of my favorite color combos with the distress inks) and then stamped the image over top of it with Unity Stamp Company’s By A Thread Itty Bitty stamp set. Originally I wanted the sentiment to just be on the white card base, but I had a mishap…alright, not a mishap I’m just goofy and accidentally stamped the sentiment up side down, so I had to change my plans a bit and decided to stamp the sentiment over a piece of patterned paper which I got from My Mind’s Eye Happy Day 6×6 Paper Pad. Not exactly what I had in mind, but I can live with it. The sentiment is adhered directly to the card base and the blended panel is popped up with some dimensional adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by! :]

Two Baby Cards & a Birthday Shaker Card

My Baby card stash is fairly low so I figured I’d make some baby cards (a girly one and a boy one) I used the same paper pack for both.

For the girl card I used two different pink patterned papers from Kaiser Craft Lullaby Collection 6 1/2 Paper Pad and gave them a scalloped edge with a Fiskars boarder punch. I adhered the more solid pink paper directly onto the card base and popped the polka dot paper piece up onto dimensional adhesive. This paper pad includes some die cuts so I used a tag that reads “A baby has a special way of adding joy in every single day” and attached that through one of the little holes that the border punch created using a small light pink brad (which I received in one of my card kits) I also put some foam adhesive on the back along one side, just to help secure it. Finished off by rounding the outer corners.

Image

For the boy card I used the same patterned paper pack and just cut strips of blue patterned paper, the argyle and thing strips of the striped paper to give it a matted look (a trick I learned from Jennifer McGuire) HOARD THOSE STRIPED PAPERS! 😀 haha everything was adhered flush to the card except for the scalloped sentiment that was also a die cut from the paper pad. The sentiment reads “What are little boys made of? Frogs and snails, and puppy dog tails, that’s what little boys are made of” and it is on some dimensional adhesive.Image

Both of these baby cards were SUPER quick and easy to put together. And I’m very pleased with the result.

For the birthday shaker card I used patterned paper from Studio Calico’s Snippets Collection. Also some random sequins that my Grammy sent me a while ago (she probably had them just laying around and thought I’d love them) I also put a small wood veneer heart that I received in one of my kits inside. I used the Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments stamp set to stamp the Happy Birthday on some white card stock and gave it a slanted edge. Finished off by rounding all 4 corners and that was it.

It has been a crazy week!

Finally, I am all packed and completely out of my apartment and am now staying at my boyfriend’s house until we can move into the new place!! Only one more month to go! :] So that’s why I haven’t posted for a while, I have been extremely busy.

I don’t have ALL of my crafting supplies at my boyfriend’s house but I do have enough to get me by so I can still craft while I’m staying here. So, I figured now would be a good time to just post a bunch ofphotos of some cards I made this past week and a few from the week before that, that I hadn’t gotten around to posting yet. So I won’t go into any details about them really since I’m actually trying to get what supplies I do have here and organize so I can craft! -SQUEAL!-

The inside of this card reads “You’re Egg-cellent” I made this card today. My boyfriend made me breakfast in bed this morning and it was just really sweet of him considering he had to be into work so early :]

This is the card I made for my boyfriend’s Mom to give her for Mother’s Day.

This card I created for my best friend Ashley. It is custom ordered for her Mom. She needed a Birthday/Mother’s Day card combined. The criteria she gave me was pink, blue and green pastels, daisies, and glitter :]

And this is just a fun card I made…I just love cute cards like this. :] I’m sure whoever receives this card will have a smile on their face when they read it.

Alright, I’m off to organize a little and get some crafting in! Hopefully I’ll be back later today with some more posts. I’m hoping to do some challenges since it’s been a while and I had SO much fun with the other challenges I did! 😀 ❤ ❤

Massive Mother’s Day Post

Hey there! It’s been a few days…I’ve been busy packing up my apartment and staying at my boyfriend’s house, which soon I will be doing for an entire month before we move into the new place.

I made a few Mother’s Day cards earlier this week but haven’t had the time to post them yet. So I figured I would share them with you now. You’ll have to forgive me, I may not be able to list all of the supplies since I’m not home & in my craft room at the moment, but I will do my best from memory (and thank goodness for google!)

So, a lady my boyfriend works with saw a few photos of some cards I made for my Mom and Grammy for Mother’s Day and she told him to let me know that she wanted to buy a few cards from me for Mother’s day. I’ve met her a few times and I know she has two sons so I thought this would be a really cute card for them to give to their Grandmother. I did some very simple coloring with copic markers using the Lawn Fawn Love ‘n Breakfast stamp set and the patterned paper is from Basic Grey Paper Cottage 6×6 paper pad. I also used the SSS Small Folded Banners die. On the inside of the card it reads ‘Happy Mother’s Day’

She also purchased two other cards from me, one to give to her mother and one to give to her boyfriend’s mother. This card, I used a background stamp that I believe is from Hero Arts and clear heat embossed it on some white card stock. I then used distress inks to blend the background with (I think) Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn. When I was happy with the way it looked I I set it aside and used some scrap white card stock I had lying around to once again blend using the same colors and cut out some hearts using the SSS Mini Hearts Set die. I cut a strip of vellum and white heat embossed the sentiment ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ from (I think) a Hero Art’s stamp set. (I can’t remember) I then used some clear dimensional adhesive for the little hearts & some glossy accents

The 3rd card she purchased was this sweet little daisy card. I just hand blended the background with some distress ink (I’m pretty sure the colors I used were spun sugar, picked raspberry & spiced marmalade) I used a sticker I’ve had in my stash for AGES, and white heat embossed the same Happy Mother’s Day sentiment as all of the other cards.

Image

Now this card my own Mother bought (I swear I told her I’d just give it to her lol) for my Grammy. I just love this card. The colors are so beautiful and match so well together. All the paper is from the same 6×6 paper pad but I don’t know the name of it at the moment. I love how the ‘o’ in mom is made up of flowers that also match the paper (coincidentally) I used the ‘You’ die and stamp set from SSS (I don’t know the true name, sorry!)

This card, I made for my Grammy…& I can’t wait for her to get it in the mail. I know she’ll love it. I used distress inks to blend the background and used a sticker from a sheet I’ve had for a while now. I can’t get enough of that beautiful cherry blossom branch! I white heat embossed the same Mother’s Day Sentiment and scattered a few pearls along the card to tie in the pearls that are on some of the flowers.

This is the card I made for my own Mom. It reminds me of a polaroid. I clear heat embossed the background (again I’m not sure what the background stamp is but I believe it is from Hero Arts) and blended with distress inks (I think the colors I used were picked raspberry and peacock feathers) I used the same Happy Mother’s day sentiment as the other cards, but this time I used Hero Arts Tide Pool or it may have been Soft Pool shadow ink, definitely one of those two! 😛

So, I have those posted but I think I’ll take a break for now and leave it at that. I have some more cards to share but I’ll be back later to update again. Hope everyone had a nice weekend! ❤

Gettin’ inky!

Hi there! Just thought I’d share a few cards with you. I’ve been busy packing (3 whole boxes finished…woohoo!)

This first card I thought it would be really pretty to blend together Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn (are these the right names? I’m not in my crafting room at the moment) And then I saw this beautiful white ribbon laying out on my desk and thought it would make such a pretty contrast to the background, so I wrapped it around the card front and tied it in a bow. I then heat embossed the sentiment ‘Happy Anniversary’ from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings stamp set. (It’s been sitting out on my desk and it really does have perfect sentiments/fonts) and that was that!

Image

This 2nd card is just so bright and cheerful. I thought it would be lovely paired with this beautiful floral paper from American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan 6×6 paper pad (I’ve been using this paper pad A LOT lately) which I cut into a banner shape, It may be hard to tell from the photo but it had the same shades of yellow, pink and orange. It also has bits of a very light baby blue that goes perfectly with the sentiment ‘hi’ that I used foam Thickers for. I just topped it off with a few small white pearls and called it good! :]

Image

And, here is just a fun little card I made for my boyfriend. The inside reads ‘I love you’

The story behind this card is I had actually bought this stamp set from Lawn Fawn (again, I’m not in my craft room, so please correct me if I’m wrong) to make cards for my boyfriend, we both LOVE breakfast! Well the other morning we were both too lazy to cook breakfast before he had to leave for work so I made him this cute little card in lieu of a real breakfast. :]

Hope you enjoyed! Have a great day!!
